Fresh air, impressive mountain panoramas and lots of enjoyment of nature – that is the Schladming-Dachstein region. And the biYou eco-quarter is right in the middle of it all.
To do justice to this special place, an extraordinary hotel concept is also needed. That is exactly what you will find with us. Living in harmony with nature, learning from it and appreciating its diversity. These are values that we stand for as hosts and family, that we live every day in our yoga hotel and make tangible in many loving details.
PS: Good sleep is valuable and important. That's why we deactivate the WiFi between 11 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
Sustainable
Avoid plastic. Climate neutral. Our understanding of luxury means doing good for the body and mind. That's why we rely on sustainable principles. We always decide carefully what is needed and always include the manufacturing process in our considerations. Enjoy plastic-free, because our breakfast buffet comes without small packaging. Reduce plastic as much as possible. As a climate-neutral hotel, we rely on regional, such as organic food, heat with renewable energy, use green electricity and recycled products. For us, sustainability is a constant process to achieve the best for our guests and the environment.

We want the best for you and your body. Instead of a heavy meal in the evening, you start your day with an honest, valuable breakfast in our breakfast and lounge area "Bistro Bergkristall". With homemade products, crispy muesli, warm porridge and regional specialties. With all the enjoyment, we also want the best for our environment. We do not use plastic. Thanks to our comprehensive measures for sustainable business at biYou, our ecological footprint is only 2.89 kg CO² per guest and overnight stay. We offset the remaining CO² emissions by purchasing certificates that support projects in emerging countries - including a reforestation project in Uruguay and a water project in Mali.

Harmoniously united. Tradition & innovation. biYou is a project close to our hearts. The decision to become an eco-quarter was made quite consciously and with full conviction. As a hostess, passionate yoga teacher and herbalist, I, Karin, like to share my joy of yoga, slowing down and simple, natural enjoyment with our guests. As an architect, Franz, the real and natural is particularly important to me and so I ensure the constant development of our eco-hotel. As a hobby beekeeper, I also supply the organic sweets to the breakfast buffet. Together we work on small details every day to become more sustainable - for us as a family and for our guests.
History of Hotel Bergkristall.
How it all began...
The Hotel Bergkristall was founded in 1974 by our parents Roman and Ida Reiter. Both come from farming families and have created a shared holiday home with the hotel that exudes exclusivity - like a rock crystal. In addition to the hotel, they also ran the Gollinghütte at the foot of the Hochgolling in the summer.
Originally started as a children's and hiking hotel, it became an organic hotel with a focus on yoga and sustainability in 2014 after Karin and Franz took over. Since then, numerous measures have been implemented, such as switching to environmentally friendly heating, installing new windows and installing solar and photovoltaic systems. We support the common good economy and are involved with the #estutnichtweh association by helping guests bring the rubbish from the mountain to the valley. Karin discovered her passion for yoga while studying abroad. When she took over the hotel, she completed her yoga teacher training in India, and the teacher Yogi Madhav came with her to Austria to lead the first yoga retreats at the Biohotel Bergkristall.
